Only in the last few years since I have become slightly beauty obsessed I have started using a primer before my makeup. When I was a teenager I didn't even know what a primer was! Now its my makeup must have! As my skin can be prone to spots and blemishes I find a primer is a must have as it smooths my skin and leaves an even base for applying foundation.
I have tried out a few and here are my 3 favourites this month.
I have only recently started trying out the beautifully packaged Paul & Joe make up. I am a huge fan of P&J protective powder compact which I wear every day without fail and this is a great base for either powder or foundation. This primer is fab as it applies well and lasts all day with a slight colour to it, which sometimes I have used as a light foundation as its coverage is really good. I love the fact that it has UV protection too. On my skin it is very light in texture and is not greasy, I just wish the bottle was bigger as I love it!
Paul & Joe Protective Foundation Primer UV £18.50 c/o
This primer is a classic, which I was thrilled about finding in little free gift bag at Christmas from Clarins when purchasing a few presents for family. Of course I kept it for myself and couldn't wait to try it. Even though this is just a sample, you really get a feel for the incredible soft and lightweight texture of the product. It is a similar consistency to the Studio Secrets review below and almost exactly the same colour! (Copy?)
Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch Makeup Base 15ml £25 c/o sample
L' Oreal Studio Secrets Professional smoothing resurface primer £14.29
