PRETTY PERKS...#26. SPRING MAKE UP. BECKI.

Well, as it is Spring, despite the awful weather, the blossom is out in full bloom and winter woollies aren't making there way out of the wardrobe to often now (as I write, I'm sitting in a winter jumper and it is chucking it down with rain outside!). I wanted to share a few of my favourite make up bits that are perfect for this time of year and are simple to wear.

My newest addition to my make up bag is the Laura Mercier Foundation Radiance Primer . I am sure Kate from Ghostparties is mentioned on almost every beauty blogger's post on Laura Mercier primers but I, like many blogger's I'm sure, I totally trust all of Kate's recommendations. I of course had to indulge! As my skin tends to be quite dull and lifeless, I thought I should try a radiance primer.

Most of my primers are all quite samey being a silicone base and now it's spring, this Laura Mercier primer sounded perfect.  Laura Mercier's Radiance foundation primer is a a completely different texture to my previous primers, it is light-weight and slightly gel like, with a similar texture to a gel based moisturiser, which is extremely soft on application. I was pleased to find out that this radiance primer is a water based tinted gel that helps in illuminating your skin through your make up. It helps to minimises imperfections and certainly gave me an extra glow, without a shimmery or glittery finish. With this primer, therefore I can use, a few of my favourite foundations and concealers over the top,  without the worry that as it is tinted it would affect my skin's colouring. You will be pleased to know that even though the primer is an orangey tone when you first squeeze it out of the container, it doesn't have any colour to it once on the skin.

This primer's texture is really moisturising and blends easily into the skin, leaving a smooth canvas for your make up. It is best to use this primer sparingly as it does literally really does give your face an amazing glow. So make sure, if you suffer from an oily T zone,  you use it lightly or not at all.

After priming my skin, I use Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24H long lasting foundation in shade 01 Beige Albatre.

This foundation is so light on my skin and it has a fine smooth texture over the radiance primer, which makes these two a great combo. I prefer this foundation for spring, as it has a medium to light coverage, which is perfect for the warmer days and covers up just enough for wintery days. Read my full review of this foundation HERE. For any extra imperfections, lumps and bumps I like to use L'Oreal's True Match Concealer which matches my foundation perfectly but actually is getting a little old :( . This concealer, in 03 Cream, has an extremely light and smooth texture, which hides any unwanted nasties and has been a favourite of mine for years! Once this one has finished I shall have a shop around as I can't seem to find this shade online or in store, so ladies and gents if you have any recommendations please comment below :).

To finish, must-have blusher is Stockinette Nude from & Other Stories. This blush has is a peachy terracotta tone that lightly brings a subtle glow along your check bone but still looks completely natural. Read my full review HERE. Then I keep the look simple with a flick mascara, which I have been converted to only wearing Lancome's Classic Hypnose mascara in Black. I have been using this mascara everyday and I must say has become the only mascara I have been wearing, which to my surprise, NEVER happens. The mascara wand spreads and curls my lashes with perfection, with no clumps or messiness around the eyelid at all. I have been using it for two months now and it hasn't gone crispy or dry either. I hope it lasts for a while longer as it isn't the cheapest purchase but I have fallen in love with it. Read my full review HERE

And that's my make-up must haves for the perfect Spring face!
