HAIR FAVOURITES 2013.

Hello Ladies and Gents, I hope you have had a lovely week, don't worry if you haven't because it's frrrriiiiday! This is the second part of my 2013 favourites. Today's post is hair...

First up of course, it had to be my knight in shining armour the Tangle Teezer. Gosh I never knew I could actually love a hairbrush. The things being a beauty blogger does to you. 2013 was a tough year for me and my anxiety has become a truly evil demon. Just simple things such as going to the hairdressers scares me to death, so 2013, I had to make do with an at home do. This does means my hair looks like Rapunzel. It's the longest it's ever been. The most annoying part of having long hair, apart from the pain in your arms whilst washing it, is the knots. The amount of times I have to brush my hair to keep it from looking like a haystack is crazy, I couldn't survive without my trusty Tangle Teezer. I have used it so much last year that this Christmas Jess bought me a brand new one as I had bent all the bristles!

A perfect pairing with the Tangle Teezer is a newish product that I have been using ever since we received our fabulous New York Beauty Box Swap from the girls from Pass the Rouge. Meet Not Your Mother's Conditioning Detangler. I don't think we can buy this brand over here in the UK, which is such a shame. It is a beautiful smelling, light conditioning spray that helps to detangle knotty hair aka moi! I use a few spritz of it on my wet hair and use the Tangle Teezer, starting from the ends then finally making it to the roots. I think together they are the ultimate enemies of knotty hair! You can read my full review and what else the lovely New York sisters bought us HERE

Next up is my favourite hair protector, Toni and Guy Heat Protection Mist. This mist not only smells amazing, it protects my hair from frizzing up and becoming knotty whilst hair drying, like a treat. As my hair is quite damaged from not getting a good old snip in such a long while, it also helps keep it hydrated. The applicator is a fab addiction to this product too, as it's little spritzer is easy to use after the shower and especially after moisturising my body. Does anyone else suffer from extreme slippery hands whilst attempting to hold the towel with one hand and spraying anything on my hair with the other. Oh my life #bloggerproblems! You can read my full review HERE along with one of my other favourite Toni and Guy products.

When it comes to having long hair, despite the knots, flatness can also be a huge problem. Now I'm not complaining as I know I am lucky to have thick hair but at the roots I basically look like I have hat hair 24/7 as my hair is so long. I have tried plenty of treatments, hairspray, texturing spray the lot but nothing has ever come close to fixing the problem like Percy and Reed Lovingly Light Foaming Treatment Mask c/o. I was lucky enough to try this product early on last year, when my hair actually was half this length. It did wonders for volume when my hair was shorter and now it is a god send! I like to use it approx once a week, before an event or when I am going out, to add some extra va va voom to my hair. I notice it helps my hair gain volume mainly at my roots, which is where I tend to apply the product. You can read my full review HERE if you want to know how to apply etc but please do excuse the crap photography. It's so strange to look back and see how much LLP has developed since last year.

My final 2013 favourite has to be Batiste Dry Shampoo. For all those lazy days, quick fixes and bad hair days, Batiste has been there beside me making everything OK again and bringing my hair back to life. I don't have a favourite spray in particular from Batiste, as they all work their magic in the same way but I certainly prefer the dark brown dry shampoo, if Boots have it in stock! It's always the first one to go off the shelves.

So in this post you have found out, basically I am a hair mess! I know I am a beauty blogger and all and probably should start caring for my hair more but I promise one of my new year resolutions is to fight my demons and go to the hairdressers. I have to do it, not just for my dreadful Rapunzel like locks but for myself. Who knows I might just get a brand new do too!

I also really love Herbal Essences Bee Strong range - for the price it works incredibly on my hair and has really improved the feel of it in such a short space of time.
