February 05, 2014

Morning folks. So we have made it to the mid way point of the week and I couldn't help but join the rest of you lovely lot and write up a January Favourites. I know last month, I was still writing my 2013 favourites but I hope your not too favourite'd out by now for a regular monthly series. As you can see, this month I have a rather beautiful array of colour coded products, well I think they do look rather lovely there together.

First up are my skincare favs from last month and two of them are from a cult brand within the blogging world and that is La Roche-Posay. Effaclar Duo and Effaclar Mat c/o have comfortably sat on my beauty shelf for the last month and I have loved using them. After illness and my general crappy moods, spots were a big problem for me, so I thought I would get back on Effaclar Duo asap. Luckily I found a bottle in Jess' stash and I started using it day and night before using Effaclar Mat Moisturiser. This treatment is honestly the best I have ever tried. It clears up my skin quickly and keeps it looking bright and healthy.

I am sure by now you would have heard that the newbie Effaclar Duo+ c/o was swiftly launched this month, which to my surprise is even better that the original, I won't say too much right now, as I am still testing it. But without forgetting I must quickly say how fantastic Effaclar Mat c/o. Part of the same skincare family, this light gel like moisturiser, is hydrating and cooling without leaving any grease or residue on my skin. As I tend not to wear make up most days, I find this moisturiser keeps my oily t-zone in shape and keeps my skin looking fresh throughout the day. I find it is best as a daytime moisturiser.

Sticking to skincare, I have been loving using Elemental Herbolgy's Facial Glow mask. This mask is by far the most expensive mask I have ever bought and (sad face as I type) I am so close to finishing it. It is a exfoliating "peel", I use peel lightly here as it doesn't really burn my face off but instead exfoliates all your dead skins cells away leaving you with a glowing soft complexion. I have enjoyed this mask every time I use it and I always experience a radiant glow. I have only been using this mask once or twice a week, which means it has lasted me well but I am gutted to now have to see it go.

As you may have read, at the start of January, I shared what I got for Christmas  and ever since I have slowly been making my way through my new acquired beauty stash. I have almost finished all of my Christmas Lush goodies and wow weren't they good this year. One of my favs has to be a beautifully festive body lotion Celebrate c/o. I am afraid this one was a Limited Edition, which sucks as I have completely fallen in love with it but I am hoping it might come back! The cream is a divine blend of Cocoa butter and almond oil, with citrus notes and a splash of Cognac - Oh yes I'm on the alcohol now! I used this pot pretty quickly, I couldn't get enough of it! It's texture was hydrating and felt rich on my skin. I think by far this is the best Lush moisturiser I have ever used.

With fragrance on the mind, I am pretty sure this might be the hundredth time I have mentioned this product over the last year and honestly I still praise the ground this product lives on! This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray has been rescuing me from a stressed mind and some seriously awful days of anxiety attacks. With a delicate blend of lavender and wild chamomile, I am addicted to its relaxing qualities and a light spray on my pillow drifts me off into a deep sleep with no stress.I actually keep a travel size of this spray in my hand bag now, so when I am at work and have a wobbly moment, I just spray a little bit of this scent on my clothes and take some depth breathes. I have said it before but for a gal like me, I wouldn't cope without This Works Deep Sleep range. I would recommend it to everyone!

I have never really spoke too much about fragrance on LLP, mainly due to the fact I work with fragrance pretty much every day at work and I find it to be very personal and individual to the person . For me, I know exactly what I love and what I can't stand. I am a Chanel No5 gal through and through but boy is that an expensive habit to keep up! When in doubt, a favourite of mine is Atelier Cologne's Vanille Insensee c/o. Similar to the delicate scent of Chanel No5, this fragrance contains light powdery notes of Jasmine and Vanilla on a musky oak wood and amber base. For me, it is incredible and has been spritz onto my body all through January, keeping those blues at bay.

Nuxe's Reve de Miel lip balm c/o is my final January favourite, swiftly replacing many of my previously loved lip balms. I think this balm is extremely luxurious, yes it is pricey but it's worth every penny. It has healed my wintry chapped lips in no time and was my hero during a few days of having the lurgy. I think it lives up to all of the hype and it has become a beauty on the go must have due to it's rich gorgeous texture, unlike anything I have ever used on my lips before.

So there you have it, my favourites, gone for another month. I am loving writing everyday again for LLP and I hope your enjoying my beauty reads, back to my beauty routes is the way forward hehe! Till Friday folks, where I will be sharing a few V-day ideas for you and your loved ones...have a wonderful day! Don't worry it's not to lovey dovey!
Hugs & Kisses
