Who doesn't love a mini. I have realised over the last few months that the whole "try before you buy" mantra is genius. A mini sample can give you  plenty of time to know if a product is for you and well if it's love at first try you can go treat yourself to the full size product and no money is wasted.

Since the new year, I have consciously been attempting to use up the beauty products that have already before splashing out on more. This means a lot of empties and sometimes empty cupboards. Before buying anything new, I have rummage in my sample box and have a go at something new. Sometimes I don't like the product, sometimes I give it a go and end up loving it and most of the time, I'll love it so much I end up buying a full size.

A product that has honestly been love at first try was this one Origins GingZing moisturiser c/o. I saw a huge difference in the radiance of my skin, the texture of my skin looked plumper and hydrated, I'm not going to lie but this really made an impact on my skin. This 15ml sample lasted me a good week using it both day and night. Its light weight gel like consistency, feels refreshing and uplifting on the skin and with ingredients such as Ginseng, known for boosting radiance and helps to stimulate the skin to produce new healthy skin cells, as it also has a high percentage of antioxidants and Vitamins, such as Vitamin C. Hence the orange-like scent. With added Vitamin B to help product your skin against free radicals aka damaged cells and Coffee to reduce inflammation and tighten your pores, to give you the radiant glow that we all want. I will be definitely re purchasing this in a full size. I cant imagine not using this in the summer months, when my skin is needing hydration, protection and a healthy glow. Well London won't be getting any sun so ill have to fake it some how!

The other two samples that I have been testing over the last month, are two primers. First up is the creme de la creme of primers, Hourglass Veil Mineral primer c/o. With a rather hefty price tag, I have to say this mini sample was just what I needed before forking out the cash for the full size. This primer is literally best described as its name suggests, a veil. Its texture is light weight and once it is applied to the skin, it just disappears and leaves you with a photo ready complexion. My foundation applies like silk on top of this and my pores, what pores! It smooths and clears my complexion almost instantly. It has a stain finish that provided the perfect airbrushed base. I can't say right now I need this in my life but if I had a spare £50 I would buy it!

Last is Benefit's rather famous Porefessional c/o. I have always wanted to buy Benefit make up, as a brand ,they are innovative, fun and well there products are stunning. Not only do they always entice me with their quirky retro packaging, any product I have tried always impresses me. However, I have to admit, Porefessional just wasn't for me. I mean it did what it says on the tin but I just didn't feel it did much for my complexion. I do prefer radiant primers and this one just made my skin look dull. It did however minimise my pores and give me a smoother base, which I thought was impressive. I wouldn't buy this as a full size unfortunately but I am glad I tried it. See folks, the importance of samples! You learn alot from them and save those pennies where you need to!

What are your thoughts on these three? Am I alone on Porefessional?
