BRAND NEW BEAUTY. LA ROCHE-POSAY ANTHELIOS XL.

It's that time of year and the first year for me actually, where the invasion of Summer beauty comes about. For me, as I have only this year thrown my heart and soul into my blog solo, I have noticed how many brands are really pushing the boundaries when it comes to sunscreen. This has forever been a huge topic that the mother of skincare, Caroline Hirons who has always mentioned, we should all be wearing SPF every single day. Come rain or shine harmful rays are always around and it is important to protect your face. You only have one face folks so look after it.

A brand new launch, which I attended a week or so ago was from one of my must have skincare brands La Roche-Posay. There new Anthelios range merges their expertise in skincare and sun protection providing an incredible range of products designed for specific skin types all with a high UVA and UVB protection. With two brand new launches that are both water resistant, hypoallergenic, fragrance free and with no parabens, they really are an exciting new innovation for sun protection.

To the first product, the new Anthelios XL Ultra Light Fluid (£16.50, 50ml) with a high SPF of +50 suitable for combination skin, which is moi. This ultra light  sun cream is for your face and decollete but is unlike anything I have tried before. Gone are the days of slapping on any old sun screen that is thick sticky and heavy on the sun, this SPF, has a lightweight texture that almost feels invisible once on. With protection against UVA rays, all year round, which penetrate the skin all the way to your dermis that then can cause serious damage to the texture, colour and structure of your skin, it is now easy to wear SPF what ever the weather. This product isn't oily at all, it absorbs quickly and feels hydrating. It's texture is almost like water, as it is extremely thin. Once it is on your skin, you can't feel it at all. In the range is two more versions of the fluid but each are suited for your skin type. Anthelious Comfort is suited for normal to dry skin and Anthelios XL Anti-Shine is suited for oily or acne-prone skin. These two are of exactly the same skin benefits but have just be formulated for your skin type. Genius hey! I must add in that a huge bonus for me with this product is that the packaging. It is definitely handbag friendly, so there really is no excuse to not carry it around with you everywhere and it's gone straight in mine.

The most exciting product for me with out a doubt is the Anthelios XL Compact Cream (£19.50) with SPF +50 in shade Sand/ Beige. Before I talk about the product, I just wanted to say I am wearing this product in these pictures (above and below) with no concealer, foundation or any cheek products and the coverage is seriously impressive. Now to the actual product. This is basically, a pressed foundation with SPF +50, which is the first of it's kind EVER. It is a skin perfecting cream compact with very high protection against both UVA and UVB rays that comes housed in a cute handbag friendly compact with a mirror and specially made sponge suited for sensitive skin. The cream foundation texture literally melts into the skin, as La Roche Posay have formulated the compact by using waxes and three highly concentrated oils. This means the texture, once it is applied with the sponge, easily blends and you can work it into the skin to create a perfect complexion. I was actually pretty shocked how blendable it was and the coverage is impressive.

However, there is one downside and that is that it is only available in two shades at the moment Sand/ Beige and Gold, which for most of the world is a little limiting but not surprising really. I think they may be testing the water for now and see how popular it is. In terms of the two shades that have been released, I would say they would suit most skin complexions. I have fair skin so Sand/Beige is perfect but might be a tad dark for everyday, as I am sure it is made for when you have a slight natural tan. I would probably suggest the Gold shade for olive toned skin. The finish on both products are the same. They are creamy and radiant with absolutely no oily shine. Just enough to give you a little glow and healthy looking skin. I have got to say I am sold and although this is best saved for sunny summer days, I would wear this everyday. I think this product will be a huge hit and a summer must have if you still want to look flawless lying on the beach. I couldn't think of anything more genius for a make up lover.

What do you think of the two new releases? Do you wear SPF everyday?
