Here is my first official fashion event post on Life Looks Perfect. Since starting up style posts only a week or so ago, I was so excited to start attending fashion press days to get a feel of what was hitting the high street in a few months. Firstly getting your head around the fact that we are not even in Summer yet and I am already dreaming of woolly two pieces, is a whole other problem but for now, just being able to snap up pictures and share with you lovely lot what is to be filling the shelves, I am so grateful for. As I still wanted to keep my fashion posts true to myself, I have chosen to write and share pieces that I loved instead of sharing everything with you, which anyone could do. I like to keep it personal hehe!

Now to my first AW14 event of the year. This was a biggy. I have always loved New Looks affordable, high street prices and trend focused stock but over the last few years I haven't really connected with their collections, however oh boy this AW14, oh how we have been spoilt! As you can see, prints and textures were everywhere in the showcase and they were seriously impressive. I have always loved anything printed, be that trousers, tees, jumpers, bags, you name it, I have probably got it. Of course, when you go to these huge events, you get to see the pretty much the creme de la creme of the collection. It's almost impossible to take everything in when your in a room full of clothes but your eye does get drawn to things that you love. Mine as you may tell with my picture choice, was prints and textures.

I was so surprised to find such an incredible array of vintage inspired prints on gorgeous and flattering shaped blouses, skirts and dresses. As a vintage lover, these prints were to die for. All updated in new modern palettes, they certainly caught my eye. I think if I don't find this black two piece above, I might cry. It was a full middy skirt with a matching sweatshirt shaped top. The print was bold, classic and beautifully simple. I do love my monochrome but a two piece with a pop of colour and covered in roses, I am sold. Please be mine!

Of course, you can't go to an AW press show without spotting plenty of coats. With lots of oversized coats still popping up, my heaven as that is all I wear, my eye was drawn to a coat that I am still yearning for, the mint over sized jacket. Call me behind the times or a gal from the years of the past but a mint coat is just perfection and I have my eye on the one above! Throughout the collection, the textures and fabrics were something that couldn't go unnoticed. Quilted, full skirts, heavy weighty fabrics that to be honest, I wouldn't have expected from New Look and especially in their price range, were beautiful. My favourites were weighty full middy skirts printed with retro colourful prints and cute short dresses with high necks, the perfect homage to the 60s. Colour blocking also popped up everywhere. Bright orange, Colbert blue, hot pinks...they really did pop. I think orange is going to be huge the AW.

Now to the accessories. New Looks never disappoint on shoes. Their boots were classic, flats were in metallic adorned with jewels, whilst skater style trainers were still hugely popular and coming along for the ride into AW14. I loved the sparkles. What girl doesn't! The jewellery actually really surprised me for once, as costume style necklaces filled the walls of the studio and they looked fab. I love statement jewellery and the quality on the high street is pretty amazing. The collection that New Look presented was just as good, if not the best I have seen. With heavy bejewelled chains, encrusted with chunky exotic gems, New Look went bold.

I hope you enjoyed reading my little snapshot of what New Look have to offer to us all this AW and that a few pieces might have caught your eye. Start saving now ladies!
