Stumbling upon an inviting face from T.M. Lewis' pr last week, I felt like the luckiest gal when I was invited into browse their AW14 Womenswear collection and snap up a few pictures. Known to me, as a brand that only does men's wear, I was shocked to say the least, when I realised how wrong I was. Launching many years ago, T.M Lewis have always made small casual collections for women that focused on classic traditional tailoring. Just like their very successful menswear, especially their shirts (John has a wardrobe full of them) I was so intrigued to take a look at their AW womenswear and see how it stood up to the dapper men's collections and who isn't always after the perfect crisp white shirt.

As you would probably expect, beautiful tailoring was the star of the show for me. The tailoring wasn't what I was expecting at all though. No old fuddie duddie old office wear here ladies. The collection felt fresh, modern and simple but with contemporary touches that you would see all over the high street. Pretty blouses were adorned with sequins and jewels, whilst tailored trousers played with textures and monochrome prints. Oh and the coats. They were to die for. Just take a look at that knitted oversized jacket at the top. Retailing at around £180, I was surprised that this new collection that would probably be on the higher end of the high street was still very affordable. For the quality you would pay it and you know that the pieces would last you a lifetime.

So many pieces caught my eye. The tailored trousers were perfection. I spotted a pair with a small dog tooth pattern and cute black zip on the hem, they were timeless and would look fab all year round matched with a cosy knit and boots or flats and a cami in the summer. I think since now seeing the collection T.M Lewin should start focusing on their womenswear and getting ladies into perfect tailoring. It's timeless and will always be relevant. Now to that perfect white shirt. Well T.M. Lewin also surprised me on this one, as they very generously gifted me with one and it's perfect! I know where I will be going from now on instead of running round the high street on a hunting mission.

Have you ever bought any T. M. Lewin womenswear? Or were you surprised like me?

  1. I had absolutely no idea that TM Lewin did ladies wear, and what a beautiful selection. The jacket in the last picture is stunning, and I love the embellished collars.
