HAIR STYLING. PASS ME THE MILK.

The hair style this Spring has got to be the milkmaid plait. A simple yet beautiful hair style that gets rid of any straggly bits and adds a spot of glamour to any outfit. I tend to  rock this hair style pretty much weekly, as my hair has got ridiculously long and it is the easiest way of keeping it tame and still looking lovely. For me, my hair is my nemesis. I have tried my very hardest to keep it in good shape and do more with it but sometimes the effort that it takes even to wash it, is a nightmare. This hairstyle is therefore ideal, as it works best on unwashed hair and only needs a little spritz of hair spray to keep it in place.

To create this look, I start by splitting my hair into two parts and plait them, think Wednesday Adams! Then tie with a thin hair band and lay both plaits over the top of your head and slightly tuck one under the other. As you can tell, I am still getting used to working with my hair and hiding the hair pins but they are the least of my troubles, when I am trying just to get my hair to stay up on my head as ladies it is heavvvvy! Now my hair is just below my ribs, it is a nightmare to look after and has alot of weight to it.

As I have never been one for super glossy locks or perfectly straightened ends, I also like to add a bit of salt spray or texturising mist to my hair. By adding this bit of texture it helps hold it's shape better and sticks to my head hehe! Some of my favourites are Toni & Guy Sea Salt Spray and Percy and Reed Texturising Spray c/o. If I can create this look so can you folks. Just have a go and see what happens.

  1. I wish my hair looked this good when I try and do this hair style. I just always look so silly when I do a milkmaid plait :(

    1. Thank you! I do try, but I am so lazy when it comes to my hair but this hair style takes no time at all and is worth having a go xx

  2. I love the look of milkmaid braids! I always find that my layers poke out a little too much when I braid my hair though so by the end of it, my hair is covered in bobby pins. Maybe once my hair grows out a little more, I'll be able to braid it a little easier. xx
