A week or so ago, I had the pleasure of sneaking in my first manicure for literally years at the new launch of Maybelline's Super Stay collection for nails and lips. Starting on the note of nails, there are five Summery shades launching in stores now from the Megawatt SuperStay Gel Nail collection. With three brights - a rich lime green, a bright orange and a cerise pink and two pastels- sky blue and baby pink, these nail polishes promises to last a full 7 days.

Now I am a tough one to please when it comes to testing polishes, as with my job being literally all about using my hands, most polishes barely make it a day. I was lucky enough to get a swift Mani using Orange Punch c/o, the most gorgeous hot summery at the event and with a very strong top and bottom coat, I have to say my nails look pretty darn good for over 7 days. They only started chipping at the ends, where the polish is most exposed after day 4. Who can expect perfect nails as a florist! I was lucky to get this shade to take home too so when the tips started to chip, I just topped up the colour. I adore orange at the moment and I think in this gel like finish, it looks glossy and just like professional gel nails. But honestly this polish is incredible and I have been wearing it every day since as nothing can withstand my job like this does! The only thing is I am not sure when these will be launching but I know the lippes below have already launched in Boots.

Next up in the collection is Maybelline Megawatt SuperStay 14 hour lipsticks.  I took home Red Rays 575 c/o to put it to the test. Now I'm not going to lie, I think all these hourly promises are all to do with what you do with your lipstick (eh eh!). When you drink or eat, lipstick always come off. This one didn't do too bad but after 3 or 4 hours but I did have to re-apply. The texture is almost like a tacky gel stick that once applied the colour is really powerful and it glides on evenly in one stroke. That is one thing that I can't fault this lipstick is the pigment and the colour. The one shade that I have is a rich red that compliments my skin perfectly. I am not so sure if this will become a staple but if your after bright coloured lips that look great for a good few hours this is your lippie. But as for the 14 hours I don't buy it as I am forever licking my lips, eating and drinking but the colour really does pack a punch!

So my recommendation ladies is the polishes! They really are worth every penny and no other bail polish has come close to withstanding my job like this one has. Get buying asap!
