THE SKINCARE ROUTINE. NIGHT. JUNE 2014.

Now to my night time routine. I think this too, like my Day Routine HERE is such a requested post, even on my Instagram when I share my routine, it gets the most love and interest. As a beauty blogger, I would absolutely love to be known for skincare, so please do if you ever have any questions just tweet away or drop me an email, I don't bite.

I couldn't actually believe when I began planning this post, I have never written a review on the most loved blogger favourite- Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm (£36.00, 100ml). I think maybe it's always hard to write about a product that everyone loves, as you might be seen to just be jumping on the band waggon but honestly this product really is fabulous. I have had this little pot of goodness for a while now and I don't think I have finished it as quickly as others might due to my huge cleansing rotation. As for Emma Hardie's balm, it oozes luxury, skin loving ingredients and is an absolute joy to use at night. I don't think I have ever got bored of using this as every time I do I just kinda go 'and relax'. If you know what I'm talking about skincare addicts out there, when you have a product that you just adore, it makes you feel happy and you look forward to that moment when you get home and you can blooming take off your makeup. For me it is a joy to use and it lives up to all of it's hype. Even for the price I don't think it is expensive as it has lasted me so long and every time I use it my skin feels clean, nourished and it gets the glow factor. One tip I would say when using this balm, really work it into the skin. Take a few minutes and give your face a good massage, I know I have learnt a few massaging techniques from the guru herself Caroline Hirons which make such a difference to my skin. Also make sure you remove this balm well, as when I first started using it, I got lazy and ended up with a few spots. But ladies, you need this product in your life. It brings me so much happiness. (<< what a loser haha!)

At night I tend to do a second cleanse, which like I said before, I rotate between a few different formula's. At the moment I am loving the Liz Earle Limited Edition Cleanse and Polish c/o (£19.50, 150ml) which sometimes I use in the mornings too, as oh my it's scent is incredible. I adore orange blossom and this limited edition cleanser, using Liz Earle's award winning Cleanse and Polish base, is a summer take on it's original fragrance. I wrote a full review on it HERE and I if you like the sound of it, get it quick as once all stock is gone, it's gone!

Now to my two toners. To start I use an exfoliating toner, which it may come as no surprise is Pixi Glow Tonic c/o (£16.00, 200ml) but ladies and gents, I didn't always get on with this toner. A month or so ago, I wrote a review on this product and with my 'dodgy' batch that I had bought, Petra, Pixi's founder actually sent me the newly packaged toner to try again as she promised me that I would see a difference in my skin. My original review is HERE. With skin loving ingredients such as Ginseng, witch hazel, aloe Vera and glycolic this toner helps to exfoliate and firm the skin through using it once or twice a day. I only use it at night, as it is quite strong to use twice. I have to admit, I love this toner. It has kept my skin smooth and clear. From a spotty, acne prone lass, my skin really has changed for the better and this toner has been part of it.

Another product from Liz Earle, who always is my go to with skincare, as I know my skin agrees with everything in their range is the Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic Spritzer c/o (£13.50, 200ml). A firm favourite of mine, I was lucky enough to try the new spritz version when I visited the Chelsea store last month. This toner is my hydrating toner. It's refreshing, cooling and leaves a light mist of skin loving ingredients such as Cucumber extract, Aloe Vera and Vitamin E. Its the perfect summer hydrating toner and you can't really go wrong for the price.

For eyes, I have been using Ren Skincare Active 7 Radiant Eye Gel c/o (£20.00, 15ml). This cooling light transparent gel, helps to reduce puffy eyes and for me when I am tired is the perfect antidote in keeping my tiredness hidden. With Arnica, Ginseng and Hyaluronic acid these ingredients actively help combat and refresh tired eyes for the day ahead or in my case overnight.

Although I loved using Indeed Labs Hydraluron (£24.99, 30ml) in the Winter to combat dry skin, I couldn't help but keep it in my routine this Summer. I don't use it everyday as I like to mix things up either wearing Hydraluron or Aurelia Probiotic Skincare Cell Night Repair Oil c/o ( £45.00, 50ml), as it my skin doesn't like when I wear both. As for the Hydraluron, I think it is a great product when your skin needs a boost of hydration, holding up to 1,000 times its water weight, my skin always looks plump and healthy when I wake up. If I am after a little skin treat, instead of using a serum after toning, I sometimes use a light oil instead. Aurelia's Cell Night Repair Oil is gorgeous for this. Its delicate floral scent is a dream and its vitamins, fatty acids and botanics all help rejuvenate your skin overnight. It is an expensive treatment oil but lasts for a very long time and is well with the dollar for its benefits.

Finally, it's my night time moisturiser - Vichy Idealia Smoothing and Illuminating Cream c/o (£22.00, 50ml). I have tried a small sample of this cream before and loved it from first try. It is a light cream that actually gives my skin a perfect base for a summer glow. Although there has been alot of hype over how important a moisturiser really is within your routine, for me, I find it is key. I can tell pretty much straight away if a moisturiser works for me on how it feels, leaves my skin overnight and especially how my skin looks in the morning. This cream is simple but it's pearl like finish, leaves a subtle radiant glow in the morning and adds extra moisture to you skin without weighing it down during hot summer nights. I think its a great moisturiser and I use it day or night.

So there you have it, a rather in depth introduction to my June skincare routine day and night. If you have any questions please do email me, tweet me just get in contact. Of course, this routine is best suited for my skin but I would recommend pretty much 50% of these products for all skin types. But always ask for a sample before going the full hog I'd say. Save those bucks, as most skincare isn't all that cheap. Hope you enjoyed my skincare routine posts and till July!

  1. Nice! I love this kind of posts. I'm curious about Pixi toner but as my skin is dry and dehydrated I'm a bit hesitant to try it. I'm afraid it might be too harsh for my skin. I LOVE Moringa Balm! I've tried Omorovicza and Sarah Chapman cleansing balms recently, but non of them won me over. :) x

  2. I wish I could get my hands on the Pixi toner but it's not available where I live as far as I know. I'll definitely be keeping my eyes out for it. xx
