BEAUTY BOX. THE GLAMOUR BEAUTY EDIT.

It's always one of those things that suck you in as a beauty addict and it's the beauty box. I have been a huge fan of beauty boxes ever since the craze a few years back. I myself, have tried to stay away from spending a fortune and buying every box there has ever been from brands such a Glossybox and Latest in Beauty. I have however given in to a few Latest in Beauty summer edition boxes and of course the trio of British Beauty Blogger Beauty Boxes over the last year. I think beauty boxes are such a fab way of trying out new brands and products that you may never try otherwise. So you can believe my excitement when Latest in Beauty contacted me to sample the new Glamour Beauty Edit c/o (£16.95 worth over £86.00), which includes a box full of fabulous summery themed products all hand picked by Glamour Magazine. What surprised me most about this box is the new releases that they managed to get into this box including the rather controversial lippy collection from Illamasqua this summer.

So in the box are nine hand picked products (and a fabulous box, I must add!) with a summery theme, which are suited to the masses and beauty addicts like me! Like most, it included a variety of products from make up to skincare and even a few products that intrigued me and I had to get home and try them asap! I thought the easiest way of reviewing the box is sharing a little bit of what I thought of each product.

Bourjois Paris Cream Blush in 01
I seem to have collected quite a few of these beautiful cream blushers, which I do love to create a really natural fresh faced look. This blusher has a really light texture and can be buffed into skin to leave a flush of colour on your cheeks. I love the packaging as it is so dinky and handbag friendly, along with it's little mini mirror in the compact. Perfect for travelling or make up on the go.

Crabtree & Evelyn Nail Lacquer
I was so happy to receive the sexy red shade in my box! You have a lucky dip of two shades you see and only until you pop open your box do you see what you have got. The sexy red nail polish is rich and applies well with a need of at least two coats - standard. The texture of the actual polish is quite thin, which I wasn't expecting but the final finish is very glossy and a hot nail for day or night.

DHC Deep Cleansing Oil
A newbie skincare brand to me and you know I love me some skincare! This deep cleansing oil, is the cutest mini sample, with at least 6 to 7 uses in it. The oil is a rich texture, which you can use to remove your makeup as your first cleanse. I haven't really ever needed to use a cleansing oil before, as I feel it is best suited for people who wear fairly heavy makeup, which I don't at all. However as an amazing deep massaging cleanse once a week, its a real treat.

Hawaiian Tropic Satin Protection SPF
Well only my favourite sun tan lotion! This perfect hand bag sized mini is a great size to keep your sun protection topped up on the go or a small handy mini for taking to the beach (Oh I wish!) The scent is always a 'holiday' must have - coconuts!

Illamasqua Glamore Nude Lipstick in Starkers

I couldn't believe you get a full sized Illamasqua lippy in the box. Apart from being one of the first people to get your hands on the new Illamasqua nude Glamore lipsticks when this box launched a few months ago, if you buy one of these boxes, the lipstick itself is worth £18.50 alone. Available in seven new shades, the shades will vary in each box, the nude lipstick is a gorgeously moisturising leaveing an amazing colour on your lips for hours. I actually adore the shade I was given, its a light brown'y nude that compliments my hair, complexion and natural everyday makeup. I am a happy bunny!

Magnifibres Lash Extender
This product didn't wow me. Its an extra faffy make up innovation that to be honest didn't help my lashes to look any longer than they usually do. It's packaging is better than the product! The product itself is a pre-mascara product that can be added to your lashes to build length using teeny tiny individual fibres. You then apply your usual mascara over the top, which is supposed to help create more length and volume without the need for false lashes. I'm not convinced folks but I'm glad I have tried it.

Rimmel Sunshimmer BB Skin Perfector in Light Matte

This was an interesting one. For a pale lass, fake tan is always a disaster when I attempt to do it DIY styley. A 9 in 1 BB skin perfector, this product...wait for it - softens, moisturises, is an instant tanner, creates a healthy glow, evens skin tone, perfects and lasts up to 24 hours. It is just a tiny bit thicker in texture than a foundation and it's formula to be honest reminds me of foundation. It blends quickly into the skin, especially my legs and gives an instant tan. The tan for me has just a slight 'dirty tan' colour to it, which on a pale gal like me is so obvious when I have used this product. I think if you want a quick tan fix this product is genius and it's formula is so simple to use.

Toni & Guy Volume Sculpting Whip
This product is actually pretty damn good for creating volume on flat lifeless hair aka moi. Its a light soft cream which you add a little to your roots when your hair is damp before applying heat. I was so surprised how naturally, it created volume, sometimes its quite obvious when I use hair products and they sometimes split my hair as it is quite fine. This product however created volume and kept my hair soft and shiny.

Velvotan Tanning Mitt
I needed a great tanning mitt so badly after my dad, yes my dad destroyed my last one! Ahhh! If you want to achieve a flawless finish whilst using spray tan or a moose, these mitts really are the best. You can apply and buff the colour easily into skin without getting it all over your hands and all you have to do after use is just wash away the tan and re-use. I re-use mine for months, as it holds together and washes out so easily. I think its a great product and must have for applying fake tan!

So there you have it, a quick overview of each product in the box. I do think this is an amazing box and seriously amazing value for money. Latest in Beauty always create the best beauty boxes with impressive collaborations and products that are both great quality and brands that your trust. I am so happy with this box and can't wait for my next little package to pop through my door!

  1. Such an amazing selection! There's some seriously great looking products in there that I'd reallyl ike to try out. I've not had a beauty box in ages, I used to love the Feel Unique ones but they've stopped them now, so might give Latest In Beauty a go x
