Summer is not over folks OK, for me it's just begun! Work has quietened down now and I can finally start living again. When work takes over your life, its so easy to forget to live. Do those things that you love, see the people you love. Last month, on a whim, I got half of my hair cut off. It was a huge change but I couldn't believe I waited so long to do it! I blame it on not having the time hehe. One huge problem with switching up your hair is what the hell do you do with it.

I am a low maintenance gal at heart. Give me 20 minutes and I'll be bloody suited and booted. Having long hair was a total waste really, as I never bothered to do anything with it. I brushed it and washed it that was as good as it was ever going to get. However with short hair, you can do so much with it. I am a huge fan of matte and messy hair aka that fresh out of bed look that you can only really create with dirty hair and a reaaaalllly good time. But ladies I have tried and tested five products that claim to give you that matte and messy beach washed hair so you don't have to and if your having too much of a good time...damn you!

L'Oreal Studio Matt & Messy Salt Spray (£3.75, 150ml)

This is the most affordable product that I have in my collection and I have to say, its rather basic. It's scent is very chemically and in terms of the affect it creates, the spray just crisps up your hair. It didn't really create any waves in my hair just made it slightly tousled at the ends.

Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray (£21.50, 125ml)

Now this product was an investment, I almost fell over at the price. I am one for indulgence but I have never really spent this much on a hair product before. This spray does do the dollar I spent justice, as out of all the products I have tried this was my favourite. The sea spray is the perfect amount of wetness and mist so it covers alot of your hair quickly without using too much of the product. If your after a real beach wave look, this product is for you. With little effort it creates light messy waves with a matte finish.

Label M Sea Salt Spray c/o sample (£11.25, 200ml)

I loved this product. It was a random one for me as I found it in a goody bag from last years London Fashion Weekender, which as a freebie goes, I was so happy to try a product and range that I hadn't used before. This salt spray is great. It has quite a heavy mist, which means it gets to work straight away in creating a beach look. I like using this spray just on my ends. It doesn't necessarily create waves a such but splits your hair nicely into a tousled matte look. I could create the most amount of volume with this product.

Windle & Moodie Oceanic Spray c/o (£20.00, 200ml)

A new brand on the shelves for me and I was very impressed with the affect and strength of this product as it literally created beach hair in just a few spritzes. My hair didn't feel crisp at all but felt light beachy and messy. This mister is very light indeed so you can afford to use quite alot of the product to get the desired look.

Percy & Reed Texturising Spray c/o (£14.00, 150ml)

A perfect middle man between gorgeous textured voluminous hair and messy bed hair. I like to use this whilst my hair is wet and rough it up a little. When my hair dries it looks really full bodied and I can mess it up however I like. I love the scent of Percy & Reed's products, they literally are straight out of the salon. This spray always works on freshly washed hair, where as the other four sprays work best on dirty hair to look even better.

What are your favourite sea salt sprays?
