The first of many rather honest and frank posts! Now finding the right tone I think is the only way forward to getting these disappointing product posts right, so do excuse if the first few might seem like I am a total moany b**** I promise I'm not hehe.

I know as a beauty blogger, it's our duty to you lovely readers to get a full rounded view of what we as consumers and 'experts' really think of the products we try but there is one product that I seem to have always avoided writing about and that's one of the new hair innovations of the last few years - volume powders.

I have tried my fair share and I just don't get them!

Volume powders are meant to be an easy alternative to volume spray's or just simple hairspray to create texture and volume at the roots. They usually take the form of a fine white powder that you dust into your roots (if you have a very steady hand!) and rub to create volume. For me whenever I have tried any of these powders, I look like I have whitey grey roots which kind of stick up in all directions. The powders are very hard to use evenly throughout my hair and I usually end up with far too much product at my roots. Let alone the nasty sticky mess that it leaves your roots actually in!

It's fair to say I am not a fan. However I will share a much better alternative, which gives you major volume and a sexy texture to your hair and that is Charles Worthington's cult classic Volume & Bounce Texturising Spray (£6.99).

Please don't leave me out here alone, what do you think of volume powders?
