With my skin on the mend I decided I needed a makeup update so hit the high street. Boots being my number one stop, I was sucked into the aisles of choice! I think picking makeup is always a tricky one when you have no idea what you want so I hit the beauty bloggers recommendations and listened to Jess- my makeup guru.

Browsing the aisles with my sis, I needed a new foundation, something perfect for the winter to spring transition and something with good coverage for my scarring. Jess had tried Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation a while back when I picked up a shade to dark for my skin tone and said it was a great product.

Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation (£9.99, 30ml) is a medium to light coverage leaving you with a dewy finish. I always like to have a more radiant finish with my foundation, as I like my cheeks to look glowy whilst down my T-zone I just add a little bit of powder to mattify any oiliness. Of course I am the palest shade being Light Vanilla, which has a slight creamy peachy tone to it but blends to look completely natural. Unlike most other foundations, this one includes fruit extracts, which you can actually smell in the mixture! Fruit extracts are there to help keep your skin hydrated and dewy all day, instead of drying out. I can tell compared to other foundations that this one doesn't just sit on the skin, it blends and gives your skin life again. For the price its a small bargain.

Another recommendation from Jess was the Bourjois Delice de Poudre Bronzing Powder (£7.99). I went for the lighter shade 51 which is ever so slightly lighter than the most warn shade 52. I can't pull off a tan just yet. This ultra light powder has a soft texture and is great for giving you a little bit of colour as we go into Spring. Just like the foundation, Bourjois have added a little fragrance to this bronzer to smell like sweet chocolate, which is also why it is in the shape of a wee little chocolate bar too. I think the packaging is the only slight downfall for me, as although it's in a handy magnetic case, I find my brush can't get a good swoosh in the powder. Apart from that it's a worthy purchase and I've been wearing ever since.

Have you tried either of these two Bourjois products? Any more recommendations?
