TWO NEWBIE MAC REDS.

When it comes to makeup, there is one thing that has stuck with me through years and years of trial and error and that is my signature red lip. Whether it is my fair skin or throw back vintage style I like to adopt,  I can never go wrong with a pop of colour. Since trying a few different more natural and simple looks, I have phased out of wearing a red lip when I go out, which needs to change.

Finding a formula that I love has always been tricky and as I get older, I am just getting more and more fussy. One brand and finish that I can always rely on is Mac Cosmetics.

My signature shade has always been Ruby Woo but we have some competitors!

Sorry to share with you a sold out lippy that looks so beautiful that you'll just want it but like I did, you might find it still in some stores and I have to show it off! I am talking about the Toledo matte lipstick Barbecue (£16.00). It is a vivid medium orange hue with a fiery red warming undertone that looks fricking amazing against my pale skin. The formula is more hydrating than the usual Mac matte lipsticks I thought and the colour really popped out with neutral makeup everywhere else.  A contender to take over my beloved Lady Danger, which in comparison is more red.

The next newbie red in my collection was bought for me by the same lady who gave me my very first Ruby Woo lippie - god damn that woman has good taste is Mac's Russian Red c/o (£15.50). An intense rich red with a creamy formula that dries matte, it is one stunning shade. A real classic red, it has a deeper richness to it that Ruby Woo. I think this red is a better match for the day as it isn't half as drying as Ruby Woo but pops out and makes a real impact on an outfit. I love it!

Have you tried any of these lippies? What's your favourite red Mac lipsticks?
