LATE TO THE PARTY. MY FIRST EXPERIENCE WITH PROFESSIONAL GEL NAILS.

As a beauty lass, I think everyone always assumes you have tried pretty much everything out there. Well this lady is just like everyone out there and I think that would be impossible unless I had a few more dollars in the bank!

A few weeks back I wasn't in the best of moods and so I took to my phone, found the closest beauty salon and got my nails done. Now I was already picturing me walking into the salon like the scene in Legally Blonde, where we all might fall into line and do the Bend and Snap or that I would break down at the nearest desk and share my life story, oh and maybe meet my next best friend. Well neither happened. Gutted and there loss right?

Instead, I was graced with the presence of the most silent nail technician in probably the whole of the south west of London and I picked to get myself my first set of Gel nails. One - I had never really been the kinda girl to go and get her nails done before (I'm an at home Mani perfectionist) and two - I had no idea what the hell Gel nails were going to be like.

Imagining I walk out of the salon with 6 inch acrylic nails growing off my finger tips, I was pleasantly surprised how easy Gel nails were to apply. Just two coats, top and base coat and some time in a little UV light box. Didn't see what all the fuss was about.

The huge positive to all of this as a florist, is that my nails are usually an absolute state and nail polish barely lasts a day, where a week later from my Gel Mani and there isn't a chip in sight. I am rather impressed! Not to have to worry about painting my nails or hiding away how awful my nails look whilst out and about, this way someone else took the stress away and they have lasted!

To Mani or not to Mani next week now that is the question! I think I could get too used to this salon pampering.

Do you treat yourself to a Mani once in a while? Or am I just completely late to the band waggon?

  1. I really need to get a gel mani! My polish always chips within a few hours. :(

  2. I absolutely love having a Mani, it is just so relaxing and it means you have to sit still for at least 30 minutes x
