A month of so ago, This works launched a new collection called Light Time. Light Time is a collection that is designed to help signs of fatigue and puffiness, after what can sometimes be a restless night sleep. The collection has been designed to use active ingredients to give the skin radiance and an energy boost.

Known for their amazing Deep Sleep range and certainly that amazing Pillow Spray, I was interested to try some more of their skincare. Starting with the Cleanse & Glow Cleanser c/o (£30.00, 75ml) which has just launched and from the new Light Time philosophy, it sounded amazing and just what I need as the dark mornings kick in.

I literally can not fault how this cleanser made my skin feel after my first use. I used it as a morning cleanse with a little water, I just massaged it in for a minute and rinsed. The texture was slightly unusually, as its sort of waxy texture, reminded me a bit of the Eve Lom Balm cleanser, that just broke me out instantly. My skin has become so sensitive these days and with my breakouts happening way to often, its always a risk trying something with a texture like this.

Made of 100% natural plant-based waxes such as sunflower and Mimosa, that if removed properly should break me out. However unfortunately it did. Of course, I can't 100% blame this product as my skin has been so temperamental this year and with adult acne on my case, I am gutted that this product didn't work for me. However though before starting to break out, it did exactly what it said on the tin, it brightened and made my skin so soft and I am sure for someone who doesn't have any sort of skin issues this would be the perfect wake me up a few times a week when you do feel that little bit more tired of a morning.

Although this product might have not been for my skin, I am very intrigued in the water active Vitamin C that can be found in this cleanser. Something I have never really heard of before, the Vitamin C gets to work brightening your complexion as soon as it makes contact with your damp skin. This also makes your skin feel smooth and hydrated. An ingredient I would like to certainly hear more of as who doesn't want a glowing complexion!

I really do hate writing honest reviews as I love this brand and would hate my review to put you off but I think its best to share my experience as if you do have skin that is prone to breakouts I would hate for something to make them even worse. I would still love to try more of This Works skincare, as I have heard great things and I hope that my next experience would be a more positive one.

Have you tried any of the new Light Time This Works products?

  1. Thanks for your honesty in this review - it's totally fine to be honest as you're not bashing the whole brand, just saying this product didn't work out for you. I'll steer clear too as I have adult acne myself, but like you I'm definitely up for trying other things from This Works!

    1. Thanks my lovely, its always a difficult one to say when something doesn't work for you in blogging but like you just said- I wouldn't want to upset your skin by not being truthful xx
