SUNDAY LOVE. #66. BUILDING A NEW HOME.

Being in your very own home is something I can't quite explain. First of all, I feel so privileged to have the chance to live in my own home and I know with house prices shooting out the roof, to be able to live in London, is a dream come true. This flat is my dream come true and finally I feel like I can be settled somewhere.

I have been here for about a month now and things are finally coming together. If you know me, you will know I have always dreamt of being an interior designer, so being able to decorate my own home was always one of the most exciting things I would get the chance to do.

With a rather broke budget, I have had to try to not get too over excited in B&Q or Ikea but trying to buy things as I go along and things that are important in making a home. Of course, I didn't!!!

I got way too excited in Ikea, bought literally everything that I have been dreaming of and now I have had to move away from the debit card and start saving again! We are still out of a bed frame, which was priority but I just had to have that side table and a dining room table probably should have been at the top of my list but I wanted that giant 2 metre lamp! Its a battle and now as I am packing for Paris, I probably should have calmed down the spending and slowly built  up the furniture.

I will never make my home one of those white walled, white furniture, white floored places that look great in a photo but look stark and lonely. I love colour and mixing textures, prints and buying a huge mix of styles. Scandinavia furniture is my favourite and with dark woods and bright orange accents I am a happy lady! I am still trying to convince the other half about that orange wall I want to paint in the Kitchen!!

With me jet setting off to Paris on Tuesday, I a actually going to be quite sad leaving my little home. It makes me feel settled and happy there. I love coming home of an evening and just snuggling on the sofa or just being able to enjoy the space I am in. I feel so lucky and privileged to be living where I am now and decorating it is just the start!

Wish me off on my holidays now! Au Revoir and lets hope my flat looks just as gorgeous as I left it! I have scheduled a weeks worth of posts so your not going to be without my lovely followers.
