Lush cosmetics Godiva solid shampoo bar
Being a complete Lush'aholic, yes I do believe it should be a thing, I am always on the hunt to try something new and not exhaust my favourites. Last time I popped to the Kingston Lush store, I of course chatted away with a lovely lady there who ran me through Lush's haircare range. Being a complete newbie to their haircare apart from the amazing Daddy O purple shampoo, I was so surprised how many products Lush have made.
The innovative shampoo bars caught my attention! I have always heard of these Shampoo bars. Literally as it sounds, they are a natural alternative to bottled shampoo with all the added goodness, all condensed into one little round bar filled with nourishing butters and oils. I have never picked one up as I never thought they would suit my hair type. After chatting away and mainly being swayed by my addictive love for the fragrance Ylang Ylang and Jasmine, Godiva (£6.95) was in my basket.

This yellow solid Shampoo Bar works just like shampoo. You wet your hair and your palm, rubbing the solid bar into your hand to lather then apply to your hair. I found my hands didn't really lather up the bar as much as placing directly on my wet hair and foaming it up. I am sure this will probably use the bar up quicker but so far I have washed my hair at least 10 times and the bar has hardly shrunk. I am pretty sure the lady in store told me it should last 100 washes!! I've got long hair though so we shall see.

For the actual application, it felt weird having to work the bar into your hair but the lather felt much softer and lighter than my usual shampoo's. It's smell is so divine, I could only hope my hair would smell of Jasmine and Ylang Ylang all day long! Once washed off, my hair felt very clean just like using normal bottled shampoo if not better. I think my hair is lighter and less weighted down after using the Godiva bar where as sometimes my hair can look a little lifeless.

As for the natural ingredients in this shampoo bar, the lather is created by a mix of Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter, Shea Butter, Virgin Coconut oil and enriching Macadamia Nut Oil. The bar itself stays together very well and is solid like a bar of soap. I know my first worry was that I would break it after one use but it does feel very sturdy.

I am really very impressed with this shampoo bar and in terms of travelling or just pure tidiness in your bathroom, to just have a little tin with a shampoo bar in it makes less mess and easy for packing. If i don't go back for another, I will certainly be trying a few more of these bars from Lush and ditching the hundreds of bottles I have laying around!

Have you tried Lush's Shampoo Bars?
