MODELS OWN SUMMER MAKEUP REVIEW.

If your a massive Models Own fan, like moi, I have to say I was so excited to hear they expanded into the world of cosmetics. Their nail varnishes hold some of the best colours I have in my collection and ones that I use pretty much on a weekly basis. As for the makeup I was wondering what they were going to release, wild colours I was assuming to match their amazing outlandish nail polish range and makeup brushes, which I have spotted a few times but to see a full makeup launch just in time for summer 2016 was a huge surprise!

As you can probably guess, what a knock out on first look. When I opened up the colourful neon ombre style boxes, I couldn't wait to see what was inside. Colour, colour and even more colour is what I got. The makeup collection itself has a broad spectrum of products from a rather bold eye shadow palette called Sweet Dreams c/o (£14.99) that might be better suited for my Barbie even though there is a lovely Toffee shade that I will be using, to a new collection of innovative Lip Gunk's (£10.99).

Wondering what Lip Gunk means? Well it is a highly pigmented gloss, available in eight shades that really does pack a punch. They come in a cute little clear bag with a mini tin tray to mix up the gloss colours to make your very own lip colour and then a little brush is provided too. These are seriously pigmented and are amazing on your lips. Like a boring black wearing lass, I love the simplicity of a red lip and the 08 Wild red is pretty incredible for colour!

I think my favourite two products from the very generous box was these two face products Sculpt & Glow Matte Contouring Powder in 02 c/o (£8.99) and Sculpt & Glow Highlighter in 02 Rose Gold c/o (£9.99). These two products are just perfect for summer if you like a glowy easy to apply complexion. As i am very fair, I only need to use a tiny amount of the contour powder and I love the highlighter cream, as it compliments my skin tone perfectly.

Overall, I think there are things in this collection for everyone and even though the collection is very affordable, I do think some of the products are a little too pricy. One silly observation however is that I do think the outer packaging of the collection does completely trump the very simple white and silver casing, so when I opened each box, I was surprised the inner packaging was so plain especially against the bright colours of the collection. But then again, I would rather a great product inside than fancy packaging.

What did you think of the new Models Own Makeup range and have you tried any pieces from it?
