On my travels last week, I needed a few household bores to clean the flat with and I happened to stumble into Wilko. Not a shop I would usually shop in, I couldn't help but have a browse whilst also with a burning desire to shop! Falling into an unexpected beauty area, I was so surprised to see a whole heap of brands that I love and all on amazing deals. I knew Wilko was full of bargains but beauty bargains was new to me!

Heading straight for the brands that I like, I found Wilko to have a great haircare area with lots of well known products such as Aussie haircare and John Frieda, of both which I picked up my usuals from for pretty much half the price I would usually pay in somewhere like Boots or my supermarket.

Browsing some more, was really happy to find quite a large section for Essence makeup, although it was a little under stocked! I haven't ever tried the cheap and cheerful makeup brand before and I was amazed at the prices and I couldn't help swatching away for ages. However with all the good stuff gone, I did end up just walking away with their Quick and easy sponge nail polish remover, which I believe was only blooming £1.50 (now £3.00)! A steal for me! I also picked up their own branded nail varnish remover too as a back up. Yes one has acetone in but thats the only way I can get off those gels without having to pay to get them removed, always a rip off in my eyes!

Picking up a few bits from Maybelline on a wim, two nail varnishes in one of my favourite formulas Super Stay and their version of a Beauty Blender but theirs is on a little handle, called a Dream Blender (£4.99). Still not quite loving the whole sponge application of makeup and a little handle makes it even more difficult to use!

As I am chatting makeup, I would love to know if anyone has bought their makeup brushes from here? From what I saw of the testers they had out on display, the completely empty shelves and bargain prices, I would love to know if you had tried them, as I think I need them in my life and you might need them too! The quality and the style of them - very Real Techniques was pretty impressive! Do drop me a tweet or comment and let me know if they are worth tracking down!

I think Wilko will certainly be my secret (not so secret anymore) one stop shop if I am after some named and branded bargains but also their own branded nail files and cotton pads (at just 70p for 100 pads!!) is a bargain that I won't forget!

Have you shopped in Wilko? What are your beauty bargains?

Hugs & Kisses
