Wintry nights just call for a cosy warm bath and a face mask so today I am bring you some brand new product launches here in the UK from Formula 10.0.6. Formula 10.0.06 is a new skincare line here in the UK from the U.S.A aimed at younger skin hoping to eliminate troubled skin and like most mud based masks they help control oily skin. Now available in Boots, the brand is a stand out on the shelves!

First of all, I think it's almost impossible to not comment on how great the packaging. For a younger audience these face masks feel sophisticated but fun and you know i love me some orange packaging! I also love the fact that the mask packaging is perfect for travelling, as it is thin and flat but holds 100ml of the mask, which would last me months. At a press day last week, I was told that they are the perfect 'flat-lay' packaging hehe! We have all had the forever rolling products off the table as your photograph so that might sway you Instagram lovers.

Now to the actual product. Meet Formula 10.0.6 Deep Down Detox Ultra-Cleansing Mud Mask (£8.99, 100ml- now half price) and Be Pores Be Pure Skin-Clarifying Mud Mask c/o (£8.99, 100ml -now half price!)

I feel like I have tried so many face masks over the years, I seem to have just stuck to a handful that have been tested by me for so long that they are part of my skincare routine. Trying new masks for a spot prone lady like me, it does always prove to be a tad worrying as break outs are usually a sign my skin hasn't loved the product. With this new brand I have had mixed reviews, as the ingredients are pretty good for a mask of this price and I love the way they look I just haven't seen a massive difference in my skin.

The texture of both these masks are creamy and rich for a mud mask, which makes them feel luxurious and that you are getting a good quality product. Both masks are mud based so the Kaolin helps to draw out impurities along with control access oil over time. However as to what both of them claim to do, I am pretty sure they are basically the same even though they have different focuses.

Deep Down Detox Ultra-Cleansing Mud Mask is a detox mask, like most clay/ mud masks are but this one has an extremely strong citrus scent of orange which is there to help brighten the skin. I am not a massive citrus fan but if it helps my skin I am happy to deal with it. In terms of a skin detox this mask didn't really do to much apart from soften and clear up my skin for a short while. I did think the texture of the mask however was impressive for the price, as it didn't dry up quickly like some mud masks do, which then leaves my skin feeling tight.

Similar in affect the Be Pores Be Pure Skin-Clarifying Mud claims to refine and unclog pores, which just didn't happen for me. It's a shame as the ingredients even included salicylic acid, which I hoped would boost the mask to give a brighter complexion. Just like the Deep Down Detox mask, this one has a really strong scent of strawberry, which I don't mind as food but on my face I didn't love. Maybe its the old, almost hitting 30 years old in me but I can see these working for a teenage audience or someone who wants to start getting into skincare, I just need more help from my masks these days.

I think Formula 10.0.6 is more about having fun with beauty. These masks would be perfect for a pamper or a girly night in. However for skincare lovers, I wouldn't say this would blow you away but flat lay fans it might just be love!

Hugs & Kisses
